This is a dhosa which is filled with mixed vegetable curry, instead of the usual potato curry. I asked for it hot and they added over a hundred tiny chopped thai chili pieces. Yowza! Hot Hot Hot. Delicious!
Today we were celebrating the last day of peach picking at Jossy farm. How to celebrate in style? Another fine Indian dinner at Chennai Masala! We've been to Bangalore. We've eaten dhosas in Mysore too. This is the only restaurant where the dhosas are better than we've had in India, let alone in the US. The dhosas we had in India had too much clarified butter (ghee) to our liking. However, it is difficult to cook a dhosa with very little ghee. It will get too dry and crack. Chennai Masala chefs use just enough ghee so the dhosa is supple, yet light and not oily. Magic! They also have unusual dhosas which are hard to find anywhere in the US. This is a dhosa which is filled with mixed vegetable curry, instead of the usual potato curry. I asked for it hot and they added over a hundred tiny chopped thai chili pieces. Yowza! Hot Hot Hot. Delicious! This is an unusual spinach (saag), lentil, and potato filled dhosa. Very unusual, and very tasty, if you like saag.
